I personally don’t condone behaviors such as streaming movies illegally off the internet… but this one was too good to not share.
Someone uploaded the entire Slide America DVD. If you’re not familiar with it, it’s basically a documentary about the growing popularity of drifting in the U.S. The DVD takes viewers to major cities such as Miami, San Diego, San Francisco, etc to show what’s up with the drifting scene across the country. Enjoy it, and if you can, purchase the real dvd at www.slideamerica.com

The Subaru wagon and BMW 2002 are personally my two favorite cars in this movie.
It’s true. These two cars prove you don’t need to have a ballin’ M3 to have an amazingly good looking and good performing car.
First car was found on Ziptied. It probably pissed a lot of BMW fanatics off–you’ll see why in a second- but I love it.
Lowered on Koni yellows and eibach springs etc. Here’s the really impressive part. BMW purists hold onto your nuts.
Powered by a KA24DET engine. Pretty impressive fabrication went into this car, I’m sure it rips like no other.
If you haven’t seen the next car, you probably haven’t checked the forums.
A video of it in action:
Oh and just a random find: Those wheels make me drool.
Check out the gallery for more pictures of the two cars.
Found this video on Youtube from browsing around pop-up light videos, for some reason. Pretty cool to see how it’s done over there.
Intial D Style, zomg!
And this one is just amazing:
No Drifting, but a good look at the Japanese car scene…
So, my friend had the bright idea of searching for car videos in Japanese. I’m not sure why I never thought of doing this, but he’s been finding some golden old school videos. Here’s a sample, I’ll post more random youtube Japan finds later. Credits go to Nick for finding this.
Feel free to skip the first minute, it’s just 3 guys talking…or doing something in the dark…
One of my top favorite wheels is, hands down, the Work Meisters. The 3 Piece series of these wheels are the fanciest, but they’re all good. I’ve yet to find a car that DOESN’T look good with these wheels. I guess I have a soft spot for clean 5 spoke wheels.
Another wheel that looks similar to these are the SSR Professors, but the difference is in the spokes. In the SSR’s, the Spokes extend into the rivets rim of the wheel, while the Work’s spokes stop before the rivets. This, along with their stepped lip design, gives the appearance that the wheels are actually smaller than they are. Straight O.G.
I have a 4 week break from school, and I have literally nothing to do. So today I was mobbin’ around m3 forums and I found some pretty sweet shiz.
First, I gave myself a mission before I entered the forum: Try to find an ugly E46. I failed. This car looks amazing in every single color ( even that pee-pee yellow ) and it’s amazing how the majority of them have very minor mods. i.e. wheels, a drop, maybe a csl trunk and a lip. That’s all these cars need to go from looking great to downright spectacular.
BMW’s have a reputation for having amazing colors. They sound simple in text and look decent in photos, but up close they all have something special about them. Check these beautiful Alpine White E46’s.
I also found a flat black M3 on m3forums, it’s not a ghetto trailer park flat black this one was done right. The only thing I didn’t like was the bright light yellow they used so I’ll just post a rear shot.
I also found a E30 M3 with 4822 original miles. If I owned this car it’d be in a bubble 5000 ft under the earth in a bomb proof shelter. Okay, that’s a little too much, but I’m really digging this car.
Here’s a couple of random pics I snatched from around the ‘net. Enjoy.
The land of the free and the home of the brave has always been accustomed to comparatively low gasoline prices. But with oil reaching well over 120 to 130 a barrel, and only expected to go higher, many Americans are looking for alternatives to their enormous S.U.V.’s. Of course, we still have it good with 4 dollars a gallon, compared to the rest of the world where petrol and diesel prices have been 3 to 6 dollars a liter. (A gallon is about 4 liters by the way). Recently, Japan’s gas prices have risen dramatically as well, much like the rest of the world. Prices soared from an average of 3.79 per gallon in 2004, to a whopping 6 dollars a gallon as of the 9th of May. What’s one way the citizens of the land of the rising sun combat these prices? Well, my favorite has to be the Kei-Car. K-car is short for keijidÅsha, which literally translates into “light car”. Japanese law mandates that cars in this class must be a maximum length of 3.4 meters, a maximum width of 1.48 meters, and a maximum height of 2 meters. Engine displacement and power output has also been restricted to 660cc’s and 64ps (~63hp).
Now, you might be saying to yourself how dinky these little cars sound, and how you would never be caught dead in one. Well, I beg to differ. I’m not sure how one would classify it, but there are ’sport’ models in the K-car class. These cars generally weigh below 1600lbs stock, feature forced induction engines, and some are even RWD. It’s no wonder these little micro cars have become the tuning platform for many racers. The most recognizable, and popularized by the devil (initial d…just kidding) is the Suzuki Cappuccino, or EA11R.

The Cappuccino falls just under 1600lbs. stock, has a 50/50 weight split, is Front engine, rear wheel driven, and features an inline 3 turbocharged engine that produces 64hp from the factory. Oh and my favorite part, it has a 8500 rpm redline. Stock. These little cars average 58mpg at a constant speed of 56mph, and an average of 45 mpg from mixed driving.
The next most popular car has to be the Honda Beat.

The beat is a little different from its competitors from the era. It produces 64hp with its mid-engine inline 3 without the help of a turbocharger. The beat weighs just a hair until 1700lbs and has a weight split of 43/57. Gas consumption is again in the mid 40’s to high 50’s. Yes, that is a female driver in that picture… I can’t tell if she’s hot or not, someone send me a zoomed up version.
The final K-car is one of the most praised K-cars to come out of Japan. The Mazda Autozam AZ-1.

Yep. Those are gullwing styled doors. Let’s take another look…

Yeah. That’s tight. The AZ-1, also known as the Suzuki Cara, features a 660cc 3 cylinder turbocharged suzuki engine, which is placed in the middle of the chassis. The weight split is about the same as the Honda Beat, and gas consumption on modest driving is similar to the Beat and Cappuccino. The AZ-1 is highly regarded for its insane styling, mainly the gullwing doors. This has to be one of the most unique k-cars to come out of that era.
So there you have it, Kei-cars are meant to be fun, economical, and very affordable. Unfortunately, the U.S. never received any of these fun little cars. It’s a shame but I suppose we were too busy with the S.U.V. craze of the late 90’s.
Here are a couple of cool modified K-cars for your viewing pleasure.
